I will stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning massive earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is really proceeding.
