The Tammy Faye Biopic
In the conflict between faith and wealth, it's a knockout win for Mammon in Showalter's delightfully tacky film adaptation of the disgraced televangelist and her felon spouse. The actor acts as the greedy Jim, who proclaims at the beginning, “God does not want us to be poor,”. He and Tammy Faye commence capitalizing on the people's religious faith. It's a riot of tacky decor, overdone appearance and insincerity, however Jessica Chastain manages to depict the real-life figure in a likable light. Next Tuesday, 1.15am, the Film4 channel
